Instructions:
Prepare the work area and protect surrounding paint with tape and cloths.
Carefully remove the rear window molding: use a trim removal tool or plastic pry tool to disengage molding from the channel, working slowly to avoid bending or cracking the trim.
Remove old or broken clips from the window channel or molding. Use needle-nose pliers or a flathead screwdriver as needed to pry out stubborn clips.
Clean the clip mounting channel thoroughly of dirt, old adhesive residue, and corrosion. Wipe with a clean cloth and use a mild solvent if required; allow to dry.
Test-fit a new clip into the channel to confirm orientation and engagement. New clips should align with the original mounting holes or slots.
Install new clips by pressing them into the channel until they snap or lock into place. A rubber mallet can help seat clips evenly without damaging them.
Reposition the molding over the clips and press firmly along the length to engage each clip with the molding. Work from one side to the other to maintain even alignment.
Inspect the installed molding for full engagement and consistent fit. Make any final adjustments and clean the area. Re-check for leaks or gaps after a short road test.
