Direct-fit fuel tank sender lock ring and rubber gasket for 1962–1976 Dodge and Plymouth A-, B- and E-body vehicles. This kit secures the fuel sender to the tank, restoring an OEM-style seal to prevent fuel leaks, vapor intrusion, and erroneous fuel gauge readings. The formed, plated steel lock ring resists corrosion while the durable rubber gasket (nitrile/neoprene) provides long-lasting fuel resistance and compression recovery. Designed for restoration and maintenance, the parts install quickly with common tools for a reliable, leak-free fuel system seal.
Features:
  • Fits 1962–1976 Dodge and Plymouth A‑body, B‑body and E‑body vehicles.
  • Direct-fit replacement lock ring and rubber gasket for the fuel tank sender — restores factory sealing.
  • Formed, plated steel lock ring resists corrosion and provides secure fastening.
  • Durable nitrile/neoprene rubber gasket resists fuel, oils, and aging for reliable sealing.
  • Helps prevent fuel leaks and fuel vapor escape while ensuring accurate fuel sender operation.
  • Ideal for restorations, repairs, and preventative maintenance — easy to install with common tools.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30–45 minutes (varies if tank removal required)
Suggested Tools:
  • Vehicle jack and jack stands
  • Lock ring removal/installation tool (sender lock ring tool or large flat screwdriver and hammer as alternative)
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Pliers
  • Clean rags
  • Fuel-safe container
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Work in a well-ventilated area and remove sources of ignition. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and relieve the fuel system pressure per vehicle service manual.
  2. If necessary, lower the fuel tank or open the sender access panel to reach the sender flange. Support the tank with a jack if removing.
  3. Drain enough fuel into a fuel-safe container so the sender area is clear of liquid. Clean the area around the sender flange to remove dirt and debris.
  4. Label or note sender orientation and electrical connections, then disconnect the sender electrical plug and any fuel lines attached to the sender.
  5. Use a lock ring removal tool (or a large flathead screwdriver with care) to rotate and remove the old lock ring. If corroded, work gently to avoid damaging the sender flange.
  6. Remove the sender assembly and discard the old gasket. Thoroughly clean and inspect the sender pocket sealing surface; remove old gasket material and rust.
  7. Place the new rubber gasket on the sender flange, align the sender into the tank, and position the new lock ring over the flange.
  8. Using the lock ring installation tool, rotate/seat the new lock ring until it fully engages the sender flange (it should snap or lock in place). Verify the lock ring is fully seated and the gasket is compressed evenly.
  9. Reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connector. Reinstall tank or access cover if removed, lower the vehicle, and reconnect the battery.
  10. Cycle the ignition to prime the fuel system and inspect the sender area closely for leaks. Start the engine and recheck for leaks and proper gauge operation.
  11. If any leaks are observed or the lock ring is not fully seated, shut off the vehicle and reseat or replace components as necessary.
