Inner tie rod end (right/left hand) designed for 2006–2012 Dodge / Ram trucks and vans. This replacement steering component secures the inner end of the tie rod to the steering rack, helping maintain precise steering alignment, reduce play, and restore safe handling. Built for durability and reliable performance, it resists wear under normal driving conditions and is suitable for restoration or maintenance of steering systems. Easy to install for mechanics and experienced DIYers, the part helps eliminate steering wander and uneven tire wear when replacing worn components.
Features:
- Fits 2006–2012 Dodge / Ram models (inner tie rod end, right and left hand applications).
- Durable construction for long-lasting steering performance and reduced play.
- Restores precise steering response and helps prevent uneven tire wear.
- Direct replacement design for easy installation and factory-like fit.
- Corrosion-resistant finish improves longevity in road conditions.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
- Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle with a jack, and support it securely on jack stands.
- Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod assembly.
- Mark the position of the outer tie rod on the threaded section with a marker to preserve alignment reference.
- Loosen the jam nut between the inner and outer tie rod, then remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut on the outer tie rod end.
- Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
- Unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod to free the assembly (count turns or measure exposed threads to keep alignment close).
- Remove the inner tie rod end from the steering rack — you may need an inner tie rod tool or appropriate wrench to break it free.
- Install the new inner tie rod hand-threaded into the rack and tighten to the manufacturer's torque specification using a torque wrench.
- Re-thread the outer tie rod onto the inner tie rod to the previously marked position, tighten the jam nut, and reattach the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Torque the castle nut to spec and insert a new cotter pin if applicable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque the lug nuts to specification, and perform a preliminary steering check.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure correct toe settings and prevent uneven tire wear.
