A precision-molded glass setting block engineered to position and support automotive glass during installation and repair. This small but critical component ensures consistent spacing, correct angle, and secure seating of door and window glass, helping to prevent rattles, uneven wear, and seal damage. Made from durable, compression-resistant elastomer, it withstands repeated use and environmental exposure while delivering reliable alignment for restoration or replacement projects. Simple to fit and compatible with common window channels and regulators, it streamlines installation and improves long-term glass stability.
Features:
- Precision-molded elastomer construction for long-lasting performance.
- Positions and supports door and window glass for accurate alignment.
- Reduces vibration and prevents glass-to-metal contact and rattles.
- Compression-resistant design maintains consistent glass spacing.
- Easy to install — press-fit or secure with urethane adhesive for permanence.
- Ideal for restoration and replacement of worn or missing setting blocks.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the interior door panel or access cover per vehicle procedure to expose the window channel and regulator.
- Carefully lower or raise the glass to the recommended service position where the setting block will sit between the glass and regulator/channel.
- Clean contact surfaces on the glass and mounting area with isopropyl alcohol; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the setting block in the channel and against the glass to verify correct height and orientation.
- If a permanent installation is desired, apply a small bead of urethane adhesive or automotive silicone to the block contact face; otherwise, press-fit the block into place.
- Position the glass onto the block and gently seat it, ensuring proper alignment and even contact along the channel.
- Cycle the window slowly to confirm smooth operation and that the block maintains position; adjust or re-seat if necessary.
- Reinstall the door panel or access cover and perform a final check for proper window sealing and absence of rattles.
