The Precision Rain Sensor Pad Kit RSK-1875 is a direct-fit foam mounting and sealing solution designed to secure and protect windshield rain (or combined rain/light) sensors. It creates a vibration-damping, weather-resistant interface between the sensor and glass to restore proper alignment, reliable detection, and consistent operation. Constructed from UV-stable, automotive-grade foam with pressure-sensitive adhesive, the pad reduces false triggers caused by gaps or loose mounting, prevents water intrusion and fogging, and withstands temperature and road-condition exposure. RSK-1875 is easy to trim and install, making it ideal for restoration, maintenance, or replacement of worn or missing sensor seals.
Features:
- Direct-fit rain sensor pad kit (RSK-1875) restores proper sensor mounting and alignment.
- Made from UV-stable, automotive-grade foam with pressure-sensitive adhesive for long-lasting adhesion.
- Seals the sensor-to-glass interface to prevent moisture intrusion, fogging, and corrosion.
- Damps vibration to reduce false triggers and improve sensor reliability.
- Peel-and-stick application with trim guides for fast, straightforward installation.
- Ideal for restoration and replacement applications to return sensors to OEM-style performance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15–30 minutes (allow 24 hours adhesive cure)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle in a clean, dry area and disconnect battery if required by your vehicle's sensor removal procedure.
- Remove the rain sensor following the vehicle-specific service instructions (refer to vehicle manual) or carefully disengage it from its mount.
- Use a plastic scraper and lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, foam residue, and contaminants from the windshield. Repeat until glass is completely clean and dry.
- Dry-fit the pad: position the pad on the glass and sensor to confirm alignment and trim lines. Use masking tape to mark orientation if needed.
- Trim the pad to fit if necessary using sharp scissors or a utility knife, following the pad's trim guides.
- Peel the adhesive backing from the pad, taking care not to touch the adhesive surface. Align the pad to the windshield and press firmly in place, working from center outward to expel air.
- Reinstall the rain sensor over the pad, ensuring proper seating and alignment. Secure fasteners or clips per the vehicle's procedure.
- Apply firm, even pressure to the sensor assembly for 30–60 seconds to ensure adhesion.
- Allow adhesive to cure undisturbed for up to 24 hours before exposing to moisture (rain, car washes) or heavy use.
- Reconnect battery if disconnected and verify sensor operation via vehicle system checks or a short test drive.
