OE-style left hand rocker panel for 1972-1993 Dodge pickup trucks designed to restore the lower-body contour, structural support, and rust protection of a classic truck. This direct-replacement panel reproduces factory profiles to ensure proper fit and alignment, helping to maintain vehicle integrity and appearance. Constructed from quality steel for long-term durability, it provides a solid foundation for seam-sealing, priming, and painting during restoration or collision repair work. Ideal for restoring original look and preventing further corrosion along the rocker area.
Features:
  • Fitment: 1972-1993 Dodge pickup (left hand / driver side)
  • OE-style profile matches factory contours for proper alignment and appearance
  • Made from quality steel for durable replacement and long-lasting service
  • Restores structural support and protects the lower body from road damage and rust
  • Designed for restoration or collision repair applications; finish and paint to match vehicle
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 4/5
  • Estimated time: 2–6 hours (varies with rust damage and welding experience)
Suggested Tools:
  • floor jack and jack stands
  • angle grinder with cutting and grinding discs
  • spot weld cutter or drill
  • MIG/TIG welder or professional welding service
  • clamps and welding magnets
  • hammer and dolly set
  • wire brush and rust remover
  • seam sealer and applicator
  • body filler and sandpaper
  • primer and paint
  • safety gear (gloves, eye protection, respirator)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare vehicle: park on level ground, disconnect battery, raise and securely support vehicle with jack stands, and remove any trim, splash shields, or components blocking access to the rocker area.
  2. Expose the damaged panel: remove rusted sections by cutting along OEM seams or spot-weld locations using an angle grinder and spot-weld cutter. Preserve as much undamaged metal as possible.
  3. Clean and prep mating surfaces: grind to bare metal around the repair area, remove rust and debris, and treat with rust inhibitor or primer where appropriate.
  4. Test fit the replacement panel: position the new left rocker panel, check fitment and alignment with adjacent panels and door sills, and trim or adjust the panel as needed for an even gap and proper contour.
  5. Clamp and tack-weld: secure the panel in place with clamps or magnets. Tack weld at multiple locations to pull the panel into correct alignment. Check fit repeatedly as you proceed.
  6. Finish welding: complete welds in short runs to minimize heat distortion. Allow metal to cool between welds and correct any alignment shifts as needed.
  7. Grind and finish welds: smooth welds with a grinder, use hammer and dolly to correct any panel irregularities, then apply body filler where necessary and sand to final shape.
  8. Protect and seal: apply seam sealer to welded seams and any exposed joints to prevent moisture intrusion. Prime bare metal and paint to match the vehicle finish.
  9. Reassemble and inspect: reinstall removed trim and components, lower the vehicle, reconnect the battery, and inspect the repair for fit, finish, and watertight sealing.
