Precision 1987-1993 Dodge Dakota Windshield Molding WFS 999 R-100 is an OEM-style replacement molding designed to seal and finish the windshield opening on 1987–1993 Dodge Dakota trucks. It secures the windshield edge, helps prevent water intrusion and wind noise, and restores a clean factory appearance. Made from durable, weather-resistant materials with accurate dimensions for a reliable fit, this molding improves long-term sealing performance and is a straightforward restoration or maintenance upgrade for aging vehicles.
Features:
- Fits 1987-1993 Dodge Dakota (windshield molding application).
- OEM-style profile for accurate fit and original appearance.
- Constructed from weather-resistant materials to resist cracking and UV damage.
- Helps prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise, and protect windshield edges.
- Designed for straightforward installation and long-lasting reliability.
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing worn, brittle factory molding.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with masking tape where needed.
- Carefully remove the old molding: use a trim tool to pry up the edge and a utility knife to cut away any adhesive or rotten rubber. Work slowly to avoid scratching glass or paint.
- Clean the mating flange and windshield edge thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, old adhesive, and residue. Allow the area to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new molding along the windshield opening to verify orientation and fit. Note any clips or alignment points.
- If the molding requires adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or flange per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at one corner, press the molding into the channel, working slowly around the windshield. Use a rubber mallet or a block of wood to seat the molding evenly without deforming it.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife and secure any retained clips or end-tabs with pliers as needed.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately and allow adhesive to cure per product directions (typically 24 hours) before driving at high speeds or exposing to heavy weather.
- Inspect the final installation for even seating and gaps. Recheck after a short test drive and re-tighten or reseat as necessary.
