Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and wear gloves to protect hands and molding.
- Carefully remove the old molding: use a plastic trim tool to pry edges away, working slowly to avoid damaging the windshield or paint.
- Remove any clips or fasteners and set them aside if reusable. Cut away old adhesive or degraded material with a utility knife as needed.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield flange and channel with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, wax and residue. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new molding around the windshield to confirm orientation and clip locations. Trim excess length if necessary.
- If the kit uses adhesive or double-sided tape, apply per the kit instructions. Align the molding at the top of the windshield and press it into place, working around the perimeter.
- Seat clips or retainers into the mounting points; use a rubber mallet or roller to evenly press the molding into the channel for a secure fit.
- Re-check all edges for a uniform seal and ensure no gaps are present. Clean any fingerprints or smudges.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations before driving (typically 24 hours for full cure).
