The Precision Windshield Top Molding WFT F733 is a replacement top trim designed to seal, protect, and finish the upper edge of a vehicle windshield. It restores the original appearance while preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and debris from entering the windshield channel. Constructed from weather-resistant materials with a secure retaining profile, this molding delivers long-lasting durability, reliable fit, and straightforward installation for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- High-quality, weather-resistant construction for long service life.
- Seals the top windshield edge to prevent water intrusion and reduce wind noise.
- Restores OEM appearance — ideal for trim restoration and windshield replacement.
- Designed with a secure retaining profile for reliable fitment and reduced vibration.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; trims and adheres cleanly for a finished look.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the old top molding: use a trim removal tool or wrapped screwdriver to pry the molding out of the channel, working along the length to avoid damage.
- Remove any remaining adhesive, clips, or corrosion from the windshield channel. Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new WFT F733 molding along the top edge to confirm orientation and length. Trim any excess using a utility knife or fine-tooth saw, cutting conservatively and re-checking fit.
- If the molding uses clips or a metal retainer, align the retainer into the channel first. For adhesive-backed styles, remove the backing tape a short section at a time to maintain control.
- Starting at one corner, press the molding into the channel and work toward the opposite side, ensuring the retaining lip seats fully. Use a rubber mallet or firm hand pressure to seat the molding evenly without overstretching.
- Secure any end pieces or corner trim as required. If applicable, replace any broken clips with new clips to ensure a snug fit.
- Inspect the installed molding for gaps, uneven areas, or misalignment. Re-seat any sections that haven’t fully engaged the channel.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer guidelines (if adhesive was used). Finally, clean the surrounding trim and glass, and test for wind noise and water leaks after a brief road test.
