This right-hand quarter window weatherstrip seal is a direct-fit replacement designed for 1984–1996 Jeep Cherokee models. Engineered to restore the original sealing surface around the rear quarter glass, it prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and helps secure the glass against vibration and road shock. Made from durable, weather-resistant EPDM rubber, the seal resists ozone, UV, and temperature extremes to provide reliable, long-lasting protection. It installs without a trim groove and is ideal for restoration, maintenance, or replacement of worn or cracked seals to return the vehicle to a watertight, quiet condition.
Features:
- Fits 1984–1996 Jeep Cherokee — right-hand (passenger side) quarter window application.
- Constructed from durable EPDM rubber for long-term resistance to weather, UV, and ozone.
- Designed without a trim groove for vehicles that use a full-molded channel installation.
- Seals against water intrusion and wind noise while reducing glass vibration.
- Direct-fit replacement to restore factory sealing performance and appearance.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools and adhesive (if required) — ideal for restoration projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground and fully lower or secure the adjacent window (if applicable) to access the quarter window channel.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: pry out the old seal using a plastic trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver, cutting away any stubborn sections with a razor blade. Take care not to damage the metal channel or glass.
- Clean the channel thoroughly: remove old adhesive residue, dirt, and corrosion. Wipe clean with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the quarter window channel to confirm orientation and length. Align the part so the molded profile seats properly against the glass.
- If adhesive is recommended for your vehicle, apply a thin bead of automotive weatherstrip adhesive inside the channel or along the seal flange following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at the top corner, press the new seal into the channel, working around the perimeter. Use masking tape to hold sections in place as needed while adhesive sets.
- Trim any excess material flush with the channel ends using scissors or a sharp knife. Ensure the seal is fully seated with no gaps or twists.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended time before driving or exposing to moisture. Recheck fit and finish, and remove any masking tape.
