Self-locking windshield weatherstrip designed for 2- and 4-door sedan models that use the WCR D691 chrome windshield trim profile. This premium rubber seal secures tightly against the windshield and chrome trim to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect interior surfaces. Its self-locking channel makes installation fast and reliable, making it an ideal replacement for restoration projects or routine weatherstrip maintenance. Built for long-lasting performance and resistance to weathering, this seal helps maintain a factory-fit appearance and dependable sealing.
Features:
- Fits 2- and 4-door sedan models that use the WCR D691 chrome windshield trim profile
- Self-locking channel designed to lock securely with chrome windshield trim
- Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber for long service life
- Helps prevent water leaks, drafts, and wind noise while protecting interior surfaces
- Press-fit design for easier installation—great for restoration or replacement projects
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any chrome trim as needed. Use a trim pry tool to avoid damaging the surrounding finish.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield channel and chrome trim mounting area. Remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris; wipe with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new self-locking weatherstrip along the windshield edge and chrome trim to verify orientation and length.
- If the seal is longer than required, trim excess material squarely with a utility knife or scissors. Make small cuts and re-test fit as needed.
- Lightly mist the channel or weatherstrip with soapy water to ease installation (or apply a small bead of weatherstrip adhesive where extra hold is desired).
- Starting at one corner, align the locking bead with the chrome trim channel and press the weatherstrip into place. Work around the windshield, pressing firmly so the self-locking channel fully engages.
- Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to gently tap the seal into tight areas if necessary. Ensure corners and ends are seated and overlaps are neat.
- Allow adhesive (if used) to cure per manufacturer instructions, then reinstall any removed trim pieces. Inspect for gaps and confirm a watertight fit by checking for smooth, continuous engagement along the entire windshield edge.
