Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect painted surfaces with drop cloths or tape; wear gloves.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and lockstrip (if present) using a trim tool or screwdriver and pliers.
- Clean the sealing channel and glass edge thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and remove old adhesive with an appropriate remover; let dry.
- Test-fit the new seal around the rear opening and over the glass to confirm orientation and fit; ensure the trim groove faces outward to accept the lockstrip.
- If using adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Starting at one corner, press the new weatherstrip into the channel and work around the opening, seating the seal fully as you go; use a rubber mallet or roller for stubborn areas.
- Insert the lockstrip into the trim groove to lock the seal in place, tapping gently along its length to fully engage.
- Trim any excess material as needed, clean any adhesive squeeze-out, and tape the seal in position if required while the adhesive cures.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for the recommended time before lowering the vehicle into service and test for proper sealing and leaks.
