This windshield weatherstrip seal (WCR D625) is a durable replacement seal with an integrated trim groove designed to accept a lockstrip, delivering a secure, OEM-style hold for the windshield. Engineered from long-life EPDM rubber, it resists weathering, ozone and temperature extremes to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and restore proper fit and finish. Intended for use on all models except convertibles, this seal is ideal for restoration and replacement projects where reliable glass retention and a clean factory appearance are required.
Features:
- Durable EPDM rubber construction resists UV, ozone and temperature degradation.
- Integrated trim groove accepts a lockstrip to securely retain the windshield.
- Prevents water intrusion and reduces wind noise for improved cabin comfort.
- Restores OEM fit and finish—ideal for restoration and replacement applications.
- Designed for straightforward installation with common trim tools and soapy water lubricant.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 60-90 minutes (may vary; longer if windshield removal/installation is required)
Instructions:
- Prepare workspace and safety gear; if windshield must be removed, have an assistant and proper suction cups.
- Remove any exterior trim and the old weatherstrip; cut and remove the old lockstrip if present.
- Thoroughly clean the pinch-weld and channel of old adhesive, dirt and corrosion; treat rust if necessary and allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip around the opening to confirm fit; trim excess only if required.
- Spray the channel lightly with soapy water or mild lubricant to ease installation.
- Starting at the top center, press the weatherstrip onto the pinch-weld and work outward toward each corner, seating it evenly.
- Insert the lockstrip into the weatherstrip’s trim groove using lockstrip pliers or flat-nose pliers; press firmly along the entire length until fully seated.
- Check the seal for uniform seating, align trim, and reinstall windshield according to glass manufacturer or vehicle specifications (use professional urethane bonding if required).
- Reinstall exterior trim and test for leaks after curing or as recommended.
