A direct-fit windshield molding engineered for 1987-1993 Dodge Dakota trucks, designed to secure the windshield edge, maintain a watertight seal and restore the vehicle’s original appearance. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant materials, this molding resists UV and ozone degradation while providing a precise fit that simplifies replacement and helps prevent leaks, wind noise and trim damage.
Features:
  • Fitment: 1987-1993 Dodge Dakota
  • Direct-fit windshield molding engineered to match factory contours and mounting locations
  • Made from weather- and UV-resistant rubber with a durable finish for long-lasting protection
  • Helps seal the windshield against water intrusion, wind noise and road debris
  • Designed for easy installation—clips and flange align with factory channels for a secure fit
  • Ideal for restoration or replacement to return worn or damaged moldings to like-new condition
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or plastic pry tool
  • Flathead screwdriver (wrapped with tape to protect finish)
  • Rubbing alcohol or automotive adhesive cleaner
  • Lint-free cloths
  • Heat gun or hair dryer (optional, for cold weather)
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Masking tape
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, engage parking brake and wear safety gloves and eye protection.
  2. Carefully remove any interior trim pieces that overlap the windshield molding using a trim removal tool to access the molding ends and clips.
  3. Loosen and remove the old molding by prying gently along its length; if clips remain, remove them and note their positions for reuse.
  4. Clean the windshield flange and channel with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove old adhesive, dirt and oil; allow to dry completely.
  5. Test-fit the new molding along the windshield edge to confirm orientation and clip alignment.
  6. If cold, warm the new molding with a heat gun or hair dryer for a few minutes to increase flexibility.
  7. Starting at one corner, press the new molding into the channel, aligning clips or flanges with factory mounting points; work along the length, seating the molding firmly with your hands or a rubber mallet as needed.
  8. Trim any excess material if applicable and reinstall any removed interior trim pieces, ensuring a flush fit.
  9. Inspect the seal for gaps and run a bead of windshield-grade adhesive if required by the vehicle’s original installation method; allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions.
  10. Verify the windshield is secure and check for leaks after the first wash or rain event; re-tighten or reseat molding if necessary.
