This replacement windshield molding is engineered to restore the proper seal and appearance on 1994–1996 Dodge Dakota trucks. It secures the windshield to the vehicle header, prevents water intrusion and wind noise, and protects the glass edge and surrounding trim from damage. Molded from a durable weather-resistant rubber compound with a precision-fit retaining channel, the part offers long-lasting performance and reliable restoration results. Designed for a straightforward replacement, it helps maintain structural integrity and factory appearance while reducing drafts and potential leak-related damage.
Features:
  • Fits 1994–1996 Dodge Dakota models.
  • OEM-style weather-resistant rubber compound for lasting durability.
  • Seals windshield edges to prevent water intrusion and reduce wind noise.
  • Protects glass edges and surrounding trim from damage and corrosion.
  • Straightforward replacement ideal for restoration or maintenance projects.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • plastic trim removal tool
  • flat blade screwdriver
  • utility knife or razor
  • clean rags
  • isopropyl alcohol or panel cleaner
  • silicone spray or soapy water (lubricant)
  • masking tape
  • gloves
  • optional windshield adhesive/sealant
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground and engage parking brake. Remove any interior trim or garnish that obstructs access to the windshield molding.
  2. Carefully pry out and remove the old molding using a plastic trim tool or flat screwdriver. Cut through any adhesive or stuck sections with a utility knife, taking care not to damage the glass or paint.
  3. Thoroughly clean the windshield channel and surrounding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue. Allow to dry.
  4. If recommended for your application, apply a thin bead of windshield adhesive or a manufacturer-recommended sealant in the channel. Otherwise, apply a light lubricant (soapy water or silicone spray) to the new molding to ease installation.
  5. Begin installing the new molding at the center top of the windshield and work outward toward each corner, pressing the retaining channel into the flange so the molding seats evenly. Use masking tape to hold sections in place if needed while positioning.
  6. Ensure corners and ends are fully seated and there are no twists or gaps. Trim any excess material if necessary and reinstall any removed trim pieces or garnish.
  7. Allow any adhesive or sealant to cure per product instructions before driving. Check for leaks by gently running water over the windshield and inspect for any water ingress or loose areas.
