Instructions:
- Prepare the workspace and safety gear. Park the vehicle on level ground and disconnect the negative battery terminal if you will be operating powered windows during installation.
- Remove the interior door panel: remove visible screws, pry off trim pieces carefully with a trim tool, and disconnect any electrical connectors (window switch, courtesy light).
- Lower the window to a position that gives access to the top of the run channel (typically about halfway).
- Remove the outer belt weatherstrip or molding if it covers the top edge of the old glass run channel.
- Detach any retainers or clips holding the existing channel and carefully slide or pull the old channel out of the door frame starting from the top corner.
- Clean the channel mounting area and glass track with a rag and mild solvent to remove dirt, old adhesive, and residue. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new channel to confirm orientation (right-hand). Apply a light coating of soapy water or rubber lubricant along the channel to ease installation.
- Insert the top of the new run channel into the door frame at the upper corner and work it into place, seating the channel along the entire length. Ensure the internal stiffener is fully seated and the channel lip aligns with the glass path.
- Reinstall the belt molding and any clips or retainers replaced earlier. Slowly cycle the window up and down to check for smooth operation and proper clearance; make minor adjustments as needed.
- Reattach the door panel and trim pieces, reconnect electrical connectors, and test the window function multiple times to confirm correct installation and sealing.
