The Precision Rear Window Weatherstrip Seal, Without Trim Groove WBL DB8791 is a direct-fit replacement gasket designed to seal the rear windshield opening, keep water and wind out, and restore proper glass seating. Constructed from a durable, UV- and ozone-resistant rubber compound, this seal resists hardening and cracking to provide long-term protection against leaks, drafts, and road noise. Intended for applications that accept a weatherstrip without a trim groove, this part helps maintain factory fit and finish — verify part number WBL DB8791 for exact vehicle fitment before purchase.
Features:
  • Verify part number WBL DB8791 for correct vehicle fitment; designed for rear windshield applications without a trim groove.
  • Made from a durable, UV- and ozone-resistant rubber compound to resist cracking and shrinkage.
  • Seals rear window openings to prevent water intrusion, reduce drafts, and minimize wind noise.
  • Direct-replacement profile restores proper glass seating and factory appearance.
  • No trim groove design for use with vehicles or glass that do not require trim retention.
  • Simple seating and adhesive application for restoration or replacement projects.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or flat screwdriver (protected)
  • Rubbing alcohol or automotive cleaner
  • Clean lint-free cloths
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (automotive grade)
  • Soapy water or rubber lubricant
  • Rubber mallet or block of wood
  • Utility knife or scissors
  • Gloves and safety glasses
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface and protect the surrounding trim and paint with masking tape or cloth.
  2. Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and any retaining clips. Use a trim tool to avoid damaging the pinch weld or glass.
  3. Clean the channel and surrounding area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or automotive cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and sealant. Allow to dry.
  4. Test-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel (dry) to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess material if necessary with a utility knife.
  5. Apply a thin bead of automotive weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the inner lip of the weatherstrip where recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
  6. Lubricate the outer face of the seal with soapy water or a rubber lubricant to ease installation and prevent pinching.
  7. Starting at one corner, press the weatherstrip into the channel and work around the opening, using a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly. Ensure the seal is fully seated and continuous with no twists.
  8. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately and allow the adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's instructions (typically 30 minutes to several hours).
  9. After curing, check the glass fit and perform a water test (hose the rear window) to confirm there are no leaks. Re-adjust or re-seat if necessary.
