Precision Vertical Rear Door Weatherstrip Seal (Right Hand, DWR 3120 98) is an OEM-style replacement vertical seal that restores the weatherproofing and quiet operation of a rear door. Molded from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant EPDM rubber, this right-hand seal creates a tight barrier against water, dust, and wind noise while helping maintain proper door alignment and reducing vibration. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance, it offers long-lasting performance and a straightforward install to get your door sealing like new again. Always verify fitment against your vehicle’s part requirements before installation.
Features:
- Right-hand vertical rear door weatherstrip — part number DWR 3120 98 (verify vehicle fitment).
- Made from durable EPDM rubber for UV, ozone and temperature resistance.
- Seals against water, dust, wind and road noise to protect interior trim and components.
- Restores OEM-style fit and helps maintain proper door alignment and latch engagement.
- Easy to install with basic trim tools; designed for replacement and restoration projects.
- Provides long-term compression set resistance to maintain sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the rear door and carefully remove the existing vertical seal by prying it out of the channel using a trim tool or flat screwdriver. Take care not to damage surrounding trim.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt and residue. Allow to dry completely.
- Compare the new seal to the removed piece to confirm orientation and length. Trim any excess from the new seal if necessary using a utility knife so it matches the original.
- If the vehicle design uses adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions. If not, skip adhesive and proceed by pressing the seal into the channel.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal into the channel, working down the length and ensuring the bulb compresses evenly and the flange seats fully. Use your fingers or a soft tool to seat the seal without tearing.
- Close the door slowly to check for proper fit, alignment, and compression. Make any small adjustments to seating or trim as needed.
- If adhesive was used, allow the recommended cure time before exposing to water or driving. Re-check door operation after cure to ensure latching and closure are correct.
