Outer tie rod end (right/left hand) designed for 1965–1969 Dodge and Plymouth vehicles. This precision-machined steering component secures the outer end of the steering linkage to the steering knuckle, maintaining proper alignment and responsive steering. Constructed from hardened steel with a protective finish and a durable ball-and-socket joint, it restores play-free steering, reduces vibration, and prevents uneven tire wear. Engineered for reliable performance and straightforward replacement, it is ideal for classic car restoration and maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits 1965-1969 Dodge and Plymouth models — outer tie rod end, available in right or left hand configuration.
  • Hardened steel construction for long-lasting strength and resistance to wear.
  • Ball-and-socket design restores precise steering control and reduces play.
  • Protective corrosion-resistant finish extends service life in all conditions.
  • Easy bolt-on replacement for restoring alignment and preventing premature tire wear.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Lug wrench
  • Wrenches/sockets (appropriate sizes)
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Grease (if applicable)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake and loosen front wheel lug nuts.
  2. Raise front of vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle. Clean the area to access retaining nut and cotter pin (if present).
  4. Remove cotter pin and loosen the castle nut or retaining nut on the tie rod end. Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
  5. Mark or measure the length/position of the tie rod on the inner tie rod or sleeve to preserve alignment, then unthread the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod.
  6. Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the recorded position. Insert the tapered stud into the steering knuckle and tighten the retaining nut to the manufacturer's torque specification.
  7. If applicable, install a new cotter pin or thread-locking device. Reinstall the wheel and lower the vehicle.
  8. Perform a professional wheel alignment after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
