Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and safely lift the vehicle with a jack; support with jack stands.
- Remove the front wheels to access the tie rod assembly.
- Loosen the jam nut on the existing tie rod adjustment sleeve and separate the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod separator or pickle fork.
- Unscrew and remove the old adjusting sleeve from the inner or outer tie rod as required.
- Inspect mating threads for damage; clean threads and apply light anti-seize if desired.
- Install the new 1"-18 UNS adjusting sleeve, threading it onto the inner and outer tie rod ends. Ensure you have the correct hand (right or left) for your application so adjustments change length in the desired direction.
- Adjust the sleeve to match the original center-to-center measurement or to approximate toe setting; tighten the jam nut to secure the assembly.
- Reattach the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle and torque to manufacturer specifications.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and perform a precise wheel alignment at home with suitable tools or have a professional alignment shop complete the final toe/camber adjustments.
- Check for play and proper torque after a short test drive and re-torque if necessary.
