Inner tie rod end designed for 1994–1999 Dodge 2WD vehicles, available for both right- and left-hand applications. This precision-machined steering component connects the steering rack to the outer tie rod, ensuring accurate steering response, stable alignment, and reduced play. Constructed from heat-treated steel with a corrosion-resistant finish and a durable ball joint with a protective boot, it restores steering precision and improves safety on older Dodges. Ideal for maintenance, suspension restoration, or replacing worn steering components, this part delivers reliable performance and long service life.
Features:
  • Fitment: 1994–1999 Dodge 2WD vehicles — inner tie rod end, right or left hand application.
  • High-strength steel construction for durability and long life.
  • Precision ball stud and socket to restore steering responsiveness and reduce play.
  • Protective rubber boot to keep out contaminants and extend joint life.
  • Direct-replacement part suitable for restoration or routine steering/suspension repairs.
  • Easy to install with common tools — designed for mechanics and DIYers.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes (per side)
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Socket and ratchet set
  • Open-end wrench set
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Adjustable pliers
  • Tape measure or alignment tools
  • Anti-seize or thread locker (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift the vehicle with a jack, and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the inner tie rod at the steering rack and inspect surrounding components.
  4. Loosen and remove the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a puller or pickle fork if needed; note or mark the number of turns to preserve alignment.
  5. Remove the inner tie rod fastening hardware (lock nut or retaining clip) and unscrew the inner tie rod from the steering rack using an appropriate inner tie rod tool or wrench.
  6. Compare the new inner tie rod to the old unit to confirm correct orientation and length.
  7. Install the new inner tie rod by threading it into the steering rack to the factory specification or to the marked position, then torque the connection to manufacturer spec.
  8. Reattach the outer tie rod end to the knuckle and tighten the castle nut to the specified torque; insert new cotter pin if applicable.
  9. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and perform a basic steering check for play.
  10. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper toe settings and prevent premature tire wear.
