  • Durable steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for extended life.
  • Secures steering linkage, reduces steering play and vibration, and helps maintain alignment.
  • Greaseable stud design (where applicable) for improved serviceability and longevity.
  • Designed for restoration and maintenance—restores steering precision and safety.
  • Easy-to-install replacement part for professional mechanics and DIYers.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Wrench set / socket set
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Grease gun (if greaseable)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands, then remove the front wheel.
  3. Locate the inner tie rod on the steering rack; remove any protective boots or clamps to expose the tie rod connection.
  4. Loosen and remove the lock nut securing the inner tie rod to the outer tie rod or steering linkage. Note the number of turns required to disengage for approximate reassembly alignment.
  5. Use a tie rod puller or pickle fork to separate the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod stud if applicable. Remove the inner tie rod from the steering rack by unthreading it or removing the retaining fastener per vehicle design.
  6. Compare the new inner tie rod to the removed unit to confirm correct orientation (right or left hand) and length.
  7. Thread the new inner tie rod into the steering rack to the approximate original position (use the noted turn count) and torque to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification.
  8. Reattach the outer tie rod and tighten the lock nut. Install new boot and clamps or secure existing boot as required. Grease the fitting if applicable.
  9. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to specification.
  10. Have the vehicle professionally aligned after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and prevent tire wear.
