Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, then raise vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands. Remove front wheel to access the sway bar link.
- Apply penetrating oil to existing sway bar link nuts and bolts if corroded; allow time to soak.
- Support the sway bar or control arm to prevent sudden movement when removing the link fasteners.
- Remove the nut(s) securing the sway bar link to the sway bar and control arm/strut using appropriate sockets/wrenches. Retain any reusable hardware if specified by vehicle service manual.
- Remove the old sway bar link and compare with the new part for correct length and orientation.
- Install the new sway bar link in the same orientation as the original. Thread nuts onto studs by hand to prevent cross-threading.
- Tighten fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer's specified torque using a torque wrench. Do not overtighten bushings beyond specified torque.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
- Test drive at low speed to verify proper operation and listen for unusual noises; re-torque fasteners after initial drive if recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
