Outer tie rod end (right/left hand) designed to replace worn steering linkage on 2000–2002 Dodge vehicles. This precision-machined steering component connects the steering rack to the wheel knuckle, transmitting driver input while maintaining alignment and reducing play. Built for durability and reliable performance, it restores steering feel, improves vehicle safety, and minimizes uneven tire wear. Ideal for restoration or routine suspension maintenance, this direct-fit unit simplifies replacement and returns safe, predictable handling to aging vehicles.
Features:
  • Fitment: Direct-fit outer tie rod end for 2000–2002 Dodge vehicles (right or left hand application).
  • Durable construction with hardened stud and corrosion-resistant plated finish for long service life.
  • Restores steering precision by eliminating play and returning proper toe alignment.
  • Sealed ball joint design retains lubrication and helps prevent contamination and premature wear.
  • Easy installation with factory-style taper and nut; no special modification required.
  • Ideal for suspension restoration, routine maintenance, and improving tire life and vehicle safety.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Wrenches or socket set (commonly 17mm–24mm depending on vehicle)
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Tape measure or alignment gauge
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands, then remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle and remove the cotter pin (if present) from the castle nut using needle-nose pliers.
  4. Mark the position of the existing tie rod end on the inner tie rod or measure the exposed threads to preserve alignment settings.
  5. Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod, then remove the castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  6. Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or a pickle fork; avoid damaging the knuckle.
  7. Unscrew the old tie rod end from the inner tie rod and install the new outer tie rod end, matching the previously marked position or measured threads.
  8. Thread the new tie rod into the inner tie rod and tighten the jam nut to secure the position.
  9. Insert the tie rod stud into the steering knuckle, install and torque the castle nut to the manufacturer’s specification, and secure with a new cotter pin if applicable.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to spec.
  11. Check steering and suspension for proper operation, and have a professional wheel alignment performed as soon as possible after installation.
