Inner tie rod end (right or left hand) designed for 2001-2007 Chrysler and Dodge vehicles. This critical steering component connects the steering rack to the outer tie rod, translating steering input into wheel movement while maintaining alignment and absorbing road forces. Built for strength and longevity, the part restores steering precision, reduces play and vibration, and provides a reliable replacement for worn or damaged factory components. Easy to install for a competent DIYer or professional mechanic and engineered to meet or exceed OE fit and function.
Features:
- Fitment: Direct-fit inner tie rod end for 2001-2007 Chrysler and Dodge models (right or left hand application).
- Material: Forged steel stud with a durable corrosion-resistant finish and high-quality poly/metallic ball joint.
- Function: Secures the steering rack to the tie rod assembly, maintaining alignment and precise steering response.
- Durability: Robust construction resists wear, road shock, and environmental corrosion for long service life.
- Ease of use: Direct replacement design for straightforward installation; hardware compatibility with OE components.
- Restoration: Ideal for suspension/steering system rebuilds or when correcting steering play and uneven tire wear.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise vehicle with a floor jack and secure on jack stands; remove the front wheel.
- Locate the inner tie rod end at the steering rack and inspect surrounding components.
- Mark the position of the outer tie rod on the threads or measure turn count to retain alignment reference.
- Loosen the jam nut on the tie rod assembly and disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod separator or puller.
- Unthread and remove the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod to expose the inner tie rod end.
- Apply penetrating oil if necessary, then remove the retaining nut securing the inner tie rod to the rack and unthread the inner tie rod end (use an inner tie rod tool if required).
- Compare the new part to the old unit, then thread the new inner tie rod into the rack to the marked position or to match original thread engagement.
- Tighten the inner tie rod retaining nut to the vehicle manufacturer's specified torque.
- Reinstall the outer tie rod and set to the marked position or match the measured turns; tighten the jam nut to spec.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to spec.
- Important: Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
