Front lower ball joint designed for 2003–2013 Dodge Ram trucks. This replacement ball joint secures the steering knuckle to the control arm, maintaining proper wheel alignment and suspension geometry. Instructions:
- Park on level ground, chock rear wheels, loosen front lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and secure with jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Apply penetrating oil to fasteners and let soak if rusted.
- Remove cotter pin and castle nut from the ball joint stud. Detach the ball joint from the steering knuckle using a separator or puller.
- Support the lower control arm and remove the mounting bolts or press out the worn ball joint as required by your vehicle's configuration.
- Use a ball joint press (or appropriate C-clamp adapter) to press out the old ball joint from the control arm.
- Position the new ball joint into the control arm and press it in using the press until fully seated. Ensure any snap rings or retaining clips are installed if provided.
- Reattach the steering knuckle to the ball joint stud and torque the castle nut to the manufacturer's specification. Install a new cotter pin if required.
- Reinstall any removed components, torque all fasteners to spec, and reinstall the wheel. Lower the vehicle and torque lug nuts to specification.
- Perform a test drive and have a wheel alignment performed after replacement to ensure correct steering geometry and tire wear.
