Direct-fit outer tie rod end designed for 2004–2006 Dodge Durango (front suspension, left or right side). This suspension component connects the steering rack to the steering knuckle, providing precise steering control and stable handling. Built to restore proper steering geometry and eliminate play, it helps reduce uneven tire wear and improves vehicle safety. Constructed from durable materials with a sealed ball joint, the part offers reliable performance and long service life, making it an ideal replacement for worn or damaged OE tie rod ends during routine maintenance or restoration projects.
Features:
  • Fits 2004-2006 Dodge Durango — outer tie rod end, left or right hand (front steering).
  • Restores steering precision and reduces play for safer, more responsive handling.
  • Durable metal construction with a sealed ball joint to resist dirt and moisture.
  • Easy direct-replacement design — matches OE fitment and alignment specs.
  • Helps prevent uneven tire wear and extends the life of steering components.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Open-end or combination wrenches
  • Torque wrench
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Pliers
  • Hammer (optional)
  • Penetrating oil
  • Marker or paint pen
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, apply parking brake and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
  2. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands.
  3. Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod end.
  4. Locate the outer tie rod end connecting the steering knuckle to the inner tie rod; apply penetrating oil to fasteners if needed.
  5. Mark the position of the old tie rod on the threaded shaft or count the turns during removal to preserve alignment settings.
  6. Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod, then remove the castle nut or nut securing the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.
  7. Separate the tie rod end from the knuckle using a tie rod puller or a pickle fork; avoid striking the steering knuckle directly if possible.
  8. Unscrew the old outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod the same number of turns you noted (or to the mark) and remove it.
  9. Screw the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the original position or marking, then hand-tighten the jam nut to hold it in place.
  10. Insert the new tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle and secure with the provided nut; torque to manufacturer specifications and install cotter pin if applicable.
  11. Tighten the jam nut against the outer tie rod end to lock the adjustment.
  12. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
  13. Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure correct toe settings and prevent premature tire wear.
