Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Apply penetrating lubricant to control arm mounting bolts, ball joint nut, and related fasteners.
- Remove the nut securing the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint separator to disconnect the ball joint from the knuckle; support the knuckle to avoid straining brake lines.
- Remove the control arm mounting bolts at the frame/subframe and any retaining brackets. Keep track of washers or spacers for reassembly.
- Remove the old control arm assembly from the vehicle.
- Compare new control arm to old to ensure correct orientation and that the integrated ball joint is present.
- Position the new control arm and loosely install mounting bolts to hold it in place.
- Reconnect the ball joint to the steering knuckle and tighten the ball joint nut to the manufacturer's specified torque.
- Torque all control arm mounting bolts to factory specifications with the vehicle at ride height if specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
- After installation, have a professional wheel alignment performed to restore correct steering geometry.
