Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
- Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and secure it on jack stands. Remove the wheel on the side being serviced.
- Apply penetrating oil to control arm mounting hardware. Loosen and remove bolts securing the control arm to the subframe and steering knuckle as needed to free the arm.
- Support the control arm and remove it from the vehicle. Note orientation and hardware placement for reinstallation.
- Use a hydraulic press or bushing tool to press out the old bushing from the control arm. Clean the bushing bore of rust and debris.
- Press the new bushing into the control arm bore, ensuring correct orientation and full seating against the shoulder.
- Reinstall the control arm, aligning it in the same orientation as removed. Hand-start mounting bolts, then torque to manufacturer specifications with a torque wrench.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to spec. It is recommended to perform a wheel alignment after replacing control arm bushings.
