This outer left and right beltline molding kit is a direct-fit replacement designed specifically for the convertible 1990 Dodge Dakota. It restores the vehicle’s beltline trim, seals the window edge, and protects the door and window channel from water intrusion, wind noise, and abrasion. The pair provides durable, weather-resistant performance and a factory-correct appearance to help maintain value and improve long-term reliability. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance, the kit simplifies replacement with an engineered fit and corrosion-resistant retainers for years of dependable service.
Features:
- Fitment: 1990 Dodge Dakota — convertible models, outer left and right (pair).
- Sold as a matching pair for outer left and right beltline applications.
- High-grade EPDM/vinyl construction with corrosion-resistant retainers for long-lasting weather resistance.
- Restores factory appearance while sealing the window edge to reduce wind noise and prevent water intrusion.
- Direct-fit design for easy replacement — no custom trimming for correct fit in most cases.
- Helps prevent channel damage and trim wear during window operation; ideal for restoration or maintenance projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and fully lower the convertible window (if applicable) to access the beltline channel.
- Carefully pry and remove the old beltline molding using a trim tool or flat blade screwdriver; remove any remaining clips or retainers with pliers.
- Clean the beltline channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and corrosion.
- Inspect and replace any broken clips or retainers. If new retainers are supplied, install them onto the molding as instructed.
- Align the new outer beltline molding at the front edge of the door/frame and begin pressing the molding into the channel, working rearward. Use masking tape to hold positions if needed while seating clips.
- Press firmly along the molding to ensure each retainer snaps into place and that the molding sits flush with surrounding trim.
- Cycle the window up and down slowly to verify clearance and proper operation; adjust molding seating if necessary.
- Trim any excess material only if required, re-secure any removed trim panels, and perform a final inspection for a consistent, flush fit.
