The Precision Hood To Cowl Seal CS 6110 84 is a direct-fit hood-to-cowl weatherseal designed to restore the barrier between the hood and cowl. It prevents water, road grime and exhaust fumes from entering the engine bay and passenger compartment, reduces wind noise, and protects HVAC and electrical components. Molded from durable EPDM rubber with an abrasion-resistant outer skin, this seal resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes for long service life. Engineered for reliable, repeatable fit and simple installation, it provides an OEM-style restoration for worn or damaged seals.
Features:
- Constructed from durable EPDM rubber with abrasion-resistant outer skin for long life.
- Seals the gap between hood and cowl to prevent water, dirt, and exhaust fumes from entering the engine bay and cabin.
- Reduces wind noise and protects HVAC and electrical components from debris and moisture.
- Direct-fit design for a factory-like restoration and reliable alignment.
- Easy to install with basic tools and weatherstrip adhesive; restores function and appearance.
- Resistant to ozone, UV, and temperature extremes to maintain sealing performance over time.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the hood and support it securely.
- Remove the old hood-to-cowl seal: remove any fasteners or clips and carefully pry the old seal free from the cowl channel.
- Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces on the hood and cowl with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, grease and old adhesive residue; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the cowl to confirm orientation and fit; trim excess if necessary.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the cowl channel or to the sealing flange of the new seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal firmly into the channel, working along the length and ensuring the seal seats fully into any locating grooves or clips.
- Use masking tape to temporarily hold the seal in position if needed while the adhesive cures.
- Trim any excess material and wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out immediately.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions, then close the hood and verify even contact and gap. Make minor adjustments if required.
