Precision Demon Models Windshield Lockstrip Type Weatherstrip Seal is a direct-style replacement lockstrip weatherseal designed to work with chrome trim WCR D759. It secures and seals the windshield edge to prevent water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration while restoring a factory appearance. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant rubber with an integrated locking edge, this seal delivers reliable long-term performance for classic car restorations and maintenance projects. The design provides a snug, consistent fit and simplifies installation when replacing deteriorated or damaged original seals.
Features:
- Works with chrome trim part WCR D759 for compatible trim installations
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber compound for long service life
- Integrated lockstrip edge secures trim and windshield in place
- Helps prevent water leaks, wind noise, and excessive vibration
- Designed for restoration and replacement of aging OEM seals
- Straightforward installation for hobbyists and professional restorers
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–90 minutes (depending on vehicle and trim removal)
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the chrome windshield trim following vehicle-specific procedures; protect painted surfaces with masking tape.
- Pull out and remove the old weatherstrip and lockstrip. Use a trim tool and knife to cut and extract any remaining rubber or locking edge.
- Clean the windshield channel and trim mounting area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner. Remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion to ensure a good seal.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip and lockstrip along the windshield edge and with the chrome trim (WCR D759) to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess material if necessary.
- Lightly mist the channel or weatherstrip with soapy water or lubricant to ease installation. If recommended for your vehicle, apply a thin bead of urethane/weatherstrip adhesive in the channel.
- Align the lockstrip edge and press the weatherstrip into the channel. Use a rubber mallet or firm hand pressure to seat the integrated locking edge evenly along the entire perimeter.
- Reinstall the chrome trim over the new seal, ensuring the trim engages the lockstrip and clips or fasteners align properly. Tap gently with a soft-faced hammer if needed.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions (if used). Inspect the seal for uniform seating and test for leaks after full cure.
