The Precision Windshield Weatherstrip Seal Without Trim Groove WBL D1136 is a durable, weather-resistant rubber channel designed to seal the windshield perimeter where no trim groove is present. It prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and vibration, and protects the windshield flange from corrosion and wear. Built from high-grade EPDM-style elastomer, the seal remains flexible in hot and cold climates for long-term reliability and is ideal for restoration and replacement projects where an OEM-style non-grooved seal is required. Its straightforward fit design makes installation quick for experienced DIYers or professional installers.
Features:
- High-grade EPDM-style rubber construction resists UV, ozone and temperature extremes.
- Designed for non-trim-groove windshield applications to provide a tight, watertight seal.
- Reduces wind noise and vibration while protecting the windshield flange from moisture and rust.
- Flexible, form-retaining profile for reliable long-term performance and fitment.
- Easy to install with basic tools; suitable for restoration and replacement work.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes (may vary by vehicle and whether adhesive is used)
Instructions:
- Work in a clean, dry, shaded area and protect painted surfaces with masking tape.
- Remove the old seal and any adhesive residue from the windshield flange and glass using isopropyl alcohol; ensure surfaces are dry and free of dirt, rust, and old sealant.
- Dry-fit the new seal around the windshield opening to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if necessary, leaving a small overlap for final seating.
- If recommended for your vehicle, apply primer and a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange per adhesive manufacturer instructions; otherwise use soapy water or rubber lubricant to aid installation.
- With an assistant or suction cups holding the glass (if applicable), begin seating the seal at one corner and work around the perimeter, pressing the bead fully onto the flange or glass channel.
- Use a plastic trim tool or soft wedge to press the seal into tight areas; avoid metal tools that can pinch or cut the rubber.
- Check that the seal is uniformly seated with no twists or gaps; adjust as needed before adhesive sets.
- Trim any excess material neatly with a razor knife and re-tape any protected painted areas.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer directions (typically 24 hours) before exposing to water or high-speed driving.
- Perform a water test (gentle hose spray) and check for leaks; re-seat or add adhesive where needed.
