This 3-piece windshield and weatherstrip kit (DL01105 KIT) provides a complete sealing solution to restore proper windshield fitment, prevent water intrusion, and reduce wind noise and vibration. Designed as a replacement trim and seal set, the kit secures the glass, protects the body flange, and restores factory appearance. Compatible with a range of vehicle applications — check vehicle-specific fitment before purchase — this kit delivers durable rubber compounds and precision-molded profiles that resist weathering, cracking, and shrinkage for long-term reliability and easier installation during restoration or maintenance work.
Features:
- Check vehicle-specific fitment before ordering; compatible applications vary by model and year.
- Three-piece kit includes windshield molding and associated weatherstrips to restore a complete seal.
- Made from weather-resistant rubber compound for durability against UV, ozone, and temperature cycling.
- Prevents leaks and reduces wind noise and vibration by restoring proper glass seating and trim retention.
- Designed for restoration and replacement projects — restores factory fit and finish.
- Simple retrofit design allows for straightforward installation with common tools and adhesives.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (plus adhesive cure time)
Instructions:
- Verify kit fitment for the specific vehicle and lay out parts to confirm contents.
- If replacing an existing windshield, carefully remove trim and old weatherstrip using trim tools and suction cups to extract the glass per vehicle-specific procedures.
- Clean the pinchweld and surrounding flange thoroughly: remove old adhesive, rust, and debris. Wipe with solvent and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the weatherstrip and molding to ensure correct orientation and trimming points. Mark any necessary cuts with masking tape.
- Apply primer or adhesion promoter if recommended by the adhesive manufacturer to the glass or flange per instructions.
- Apply a continuous bead of urethane or recommended adhesive to the pinchweld or weatherstrip channel as specified by the vehicle guide.
- Set the windshield or weatherstrip into place, starting at the top center and working outward. Use suction cups and steady pressure to seat the glass evenly.
- Engage the molding into the channel and press firmly with a rubber roller or putty knife wrapped in cloth to avoid surface damage. Use masking tape to hold pieces if needed.
- Trim any excess material if required, and reinstall interior trim panels and clips removed during disassembly.
- Allow adhesive to cure for the time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer (commonly 24 hours) before driving; check for leaks and proper sealing after cure.
