A direct-fit windshield weatherstrip seal designed for hardtop and convertible applications that require a seal without a trim groove (WBL D657). This seal provides a secure, watertight barrier between the windshield and body flange to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim. Molded from weather-resistant rubber for long-term durability, it’s ideal for restoration projects and replacement applications where a groove-free, clean appearance is required. Easy to position and install, the seal restores proper windshield seating and improves ride comfort and weather protection.
Features:
  • Fits hardtop and convertible models that require a windshield seal without a trim groove (WBL D657).
  • Manufactured from weather-resistant EPDM rubber for long life and UV/ozone resistance.
  • Designed to seal and protect the windshield flange to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise.
  • Grooveless profile for applications where windshield trim is not used or when a smooth finish is desired.
  • Direct replacement part suitable for restoration or routine maintenance of classic and modern vehicles.
  • Flexible construction for easier installation and reliable sealing under temperature changes.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flat-blade screwdriver or plastic trim tool
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (automotive-grade)
  • Rubbing alcohol or cleaner and lint-free cloths
  • Utility knife or fine-tooth scissors
  • Rubber mallet or plastic hammer
  • Gloves
  • Masking tape
  • Soapy water in a spray bottle (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim with masking tape and cloths.
  2. Remove any windshield trim or molding that interferes with the seal area using a trim tool to avoid damage.
  3. Carefully remove the old weatherstrip, cutting if necessary; remove all old adhesive and debris from the windshield flange and channel.
  4. Clean the flange thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner and allow it to dry.
  5. Dry-fit the new seal along the windshield perimeter to confirm proper orientation and length; trim excess if required for a perfect fit.
  6. If recommended, apply a thin bead of automotive weatherstrip adhesive to the flange or inside the seal channel following adhesive instructions.
  7. Starting at the center top of the windshield, press the new seal into place and work outward toward each corner, ensuring the seal seats evenly along the flange.
  8. Use a rubber mallet or plastic hammer with a block to gently tap the seal into tight areas; use soapy water to help slide the seal if necessary.
  9. Reinstall any molding or trim removed earlier and check the seal for uniform compression and fit.
  10. Allow adhesive to cure per the manufacturer’s directions before driving or exposing to heavy rain.
