Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding paint with masking tape and drop cloths.
- Carefully remove the old reveal molding using a trim tool and scraper; cut away hardened adhesive with a razor blade as needed.
- Thoroughly clean the reveal channel and windshield edge with recommended solvent to remove dirt, old adhesive, oil, and contaminants. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new molding along the reveal to confirm correct length and fit. Trim excess molding if necessary for a precise fit.
- If required by the adhesive manufacturer, apply primer to the bonding surfaces (follow primer instructions for flash time).
- Apply a continuous bead of the recommended automotive adhesive or butyl to the reveal channel or to the back of the molding per adhesive manufacturer guidance.
- Position the molding into the reveal channel starting at one corner, pressing firmly and evenly along the run to seat it into the adhesive. Use a soft-faced tool or gloved hand to avoid deforming the molding.
- Secure the molding in place with masking tape or gentle clamps to maintain pressure and alignment while the adhesive sets.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for the time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer (typically 24 hours) before exposing to moisture or driving at high speeds.
- After full cure, remove tape, trim any excess adhesive, and inspect the seal. Clean remaining residue and reinstall any removed trim pieces.
