Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, lower the window, and disconnect the negative battery cable if needed for power components.
- Remove the interior door panel and any trim pieces that obstruct access to the weatherstrip channel following your vehicle’s service manual.
- Carefully peel out the old weatherstrip, remove any retaining clips, and cut away old adhesive or sealant with a razor blade.
- Clean the channel and surrounding surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door edge to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess with a sharp blade if necessary.
- If the vehicle requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of OEM-recommended weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the seal’s mounting surface per adhesive instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working from one end to the other and ensuring corners and curves seat fully. Use light heat (hair dryer) in cold weather to increase flexibility if needed.
- Reinstall any retaining clips, trim pieces, and the door panel. Lubricate the seal with silicone spray to prevent squeaks and aid final seating.
- Close and open the door several times to check alignment and sealing. Adjust as needed and allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations before exposing to water.
