Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake, and open the hood. Protect painted surfaces around the windshield with masking tape.
- If applicable, remove any cowl covers or upper trim pieces and move windshield wipers out of the way to access the top molding.
- Use a trim removal tool or taped screwdriver to carefully pry out the old top molding, working from one end to the other. Remove any retained clips or fasteners as you go.
- Inspect the channel and clean away old adhesive, dirt, and debris using a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Ensure the mounting surface is dry and smooth.
- Transfer any reusable clips to the new molding or replace with new clips if provided or recommended. Lightly lubricate the mounting channel with soapy water or a suitable trim lubricant to aid fitment.
- Align the new windshield top molding (WFT D1591) with the windshield edge and press it into place, engaging clips or mounting points firmly from one end to the other. Ensure the molding sits flush and evenly along the windshield.
- Reinstall any removed cowl pieces and windshield wipers. Remove masking tape and wipe down the area. Check for gaps and perform a water test (gentle hose) to confirm proper sealing.
- If any leaks or fit issues are detected, recheck clip engagement and channel cleanliness. Tighten or replace clips as needed.
