A precision-engineered windshield weatherstrip seal designed to work with factory-style chrome trim and body clips. This restoration-grade seal provides a tight, reliable barrier against water, wind, and road noise while supporting proper alignment of chrome molding. Molded from durable, weather-resistant EPDM rubber, it resists ozone, UV exposure, and temperature cycling for long service life. Ideal for replacing hardened or cracked seals during windshield maintenance or full trim restoration, the part restores original fit and finish and simplifies reinstallation of chrome trim and clips.
Features:
- Designed to work with chrome windshield trim and body clip retention systems.
- Made from durable, weather-resistant EPDM rubber for long-lasting sealing performance.
- Creates a watertight, draft-free seal to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise.
- OEM-style profile for correct trim alignment and authentic restoration appearance.
- Simple push-in installation that works with existing body clips and chrome molding.
- Resists UV, ozone, and temperature extremes for reliable, low-maintenance service.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and protect painted surfaces with cloths or tape.
- Carefully remove the outer chrome trim and body clips: use a trim tool or wrapped screwdriver to pop clips free without bending the trim.
- Pull and remove the old weatherstrip seal. Trim any remaining adhesive or degraded rubber with a razor blade or scraper, taking care not to damage the pinch weld or glass.
- Clean the channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner; allow to dry completely.
- Inspect and replace any damaged body clips. Position the new weatherstrip starting at the center top of the windshield channel and work outward, pressing the seal into the channel so the retention bead seats fully.
- If specified or for extra security on older vehicles, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel before seating the seal; wipe away excess immediately.
- Reinstall the chrome trim and body clips, ensuring clips align with the retention points and the trim sits flush along the glass edge.
- Check the entire perimeter for uniform compression and proper fit. Perform a water test or carefully check for air leaks; adjust trim or reseat seal as needed.
