[More Info]
The Precision Windshield Molding WFS D1381 is a direct-replacement windshield trim designed to secure and seal the perimeter of the windshield, prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and restore a factory-fresh appearance. Engineered for long-term durability, the molding protects the glass edge and surrounding bodywork while providing a precise fit when matched to the correct year/make/model application. Ideal for restoration or collision repair projects, this molding offers reliable performance, corrosion-resistant components, and straightforward installation for technicians and experienced DIYers.
Features:
  • Verify vehicle fitment for your specific year, make, and model before purchase.
  • Durable rubber compound resists UV, ozone, and temperature-related degradation.
  • Designed to secure windshield edges, seal against moisture, and reduce wind noise.
  • OEM-style profile restores factory appearance after repair or replacement.
  • Corrosion-resistant channel and materials prolong service life in harsh conditions.
  • Simple installation for experienced technicians; helps speed up restoration work.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tools (plastic pry tools)
  • Flat-head screwdriver (protected with tape)
  • Cleaning solvent (isopropyl or adhesive remover)
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Automotive-grade adhesive or urethane sealant (if required)
  • Masking tape or painter's tape
  • Rubber mallet
  • Heat gun (optional, for cold weather)
Instructions:
  1. Confirm correct part by dry-fitting the molding to the windshield perimeter and vehicle body before beginning.
  2. Carefully remove the old molding: use plastic trim tools to pry up the edge and a protected flat-head screwdriver where needed. Remove any retaining clips if present.
  3. Clean the pinch weld and glass edge thoroughly with solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and sealant. Wipe dry with a microfiber cloth.
  4. If the new molding requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of recommended automotive adhesive or urethane to the pinch weld per adhesive instructions.
  5. Align the molding at the top center of the windshield and press it into place along the pinch weld, working outward toward the corners. Ensure the channel fully seats over the glass lip.
  6. Use masking tape or gentle clamps to hold the molding in position while adhesive cures. Tap gently with a rubber mallet where needed to secure tight seating.
  7. Trim any excess material and reinstall any retained clips or trim pieces removed earlier.
  8. Allow adhesive to cure per the manufacturer’s recommended time before driving; perform a final inspection for gaps, alignment, and water-tight sealing.
