Instructions:
- Open the door and carefully remove the old weatherstrip. Use a trim tool or flat-head screwdriver to pry out retained sections and remove any clips if present.
- Clean the mounting flange thoroughly. Remove old adhesive and residue with a scraper and wipe with rubbing alcohol or solvent so the surface is dry and residue-free.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip pieces (left and right) along the door frame to verify orientation and trimming needs before applying adhesive.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the door flange and/or the seal per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Position the weatherstrip beginning at one end and press firmly along the flange, working toward the opposite end. Use a seam roller or rubber mallet (with a protective block) to seat the seal evenly into place.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife or scissors for a clean fit at corners and ends.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for the time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer before closing the door or exposing to moisture.
- Check door operation and alignment; make minor adjustments if necessary to ensure a uniform seal and smooth door closure.
