The Precision Hood To Cowl Seal HS 3110 74 is a direct-fit hood-to-cowl weatherseal designed to restore the critical seal between the hood and cowl on classic vehicles. It prevents water intrusion, dust, and road debris from entering the engine bay and cabin vent area, while helping reduce wind noise and rattles. Constructed from automotive-grade rubber for long-lasting weather resistance, this seal re-establishes proper alignment and contact where OEM seals have deteriorated, making it an essential part for exterior restoration and routine maintenance. HS 3110 74 suggests fitment for 1974-era applications—confirm exact vehicle fitment before purchase.
Features:
- Made from automotive-grade rubber for UV, ozone and temperature resistance.
- Restores hood-to-cowl sealing to prevent water, dirt and debris entry.
- Reduces wind noise and vibration by re-establishing proper hood contact.
- Designed as an OEM-style replacement for restoration and maintenance projects.
- Flexible, pre-formed profile for straightforward trimming and fitment if needed.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, open the hood and support it safely.
- Remove the old seal by peeling it away and use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to free any stuck portions.
- Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces on the hood and cowl using isopropyl alcohol or an approved solvent; remove adhesive residue and let dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the hood-to-cowl joint to confirm orientation and identify any trimming points.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the cowl flange per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Position the seal starting at one end (center of hood recommended) and press it firmly into place, working outward and ensuring the profile seats evenly.
- Use masking tape to hold the seal in place if necessary while the adhesive cures.
- Trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a neat fit, then allow the adhesive to cure fully before driving (refer to adhesive cure time).
