The Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 1101 007 is a robust metal trim fastener designed to securely hold exterior and interior moldings, wheel well trim, and body panels. Made from stamped corrosion-resistant steel with a precision-formed profile, this clip restores factory fit and finish by providing a firm, vibration-resistant attachment that prevents rattles and wind noise. It is engineered for use on a wide range of domestic and import vehicles — verify OEM part numbers or hole size for exact compatibility — and is ideal for restoration, repair, and preventative maintenance where a durable, reliable replacement is required.
Features:
- Stamped corrosion-resistant steel for long-lasting durability and rust resistance
- Precision-formed profile secures trim and prevents vibration and rattling
- OEM-style replacement restores factory fit and finish for worn or broken clips
- Easy push-in installation — designed for a tight, reliable grip
- Ideal for restoring exterior and interior moldings on a variety of vehicles
- Resists road salts and weathering for reliable performance over time
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 10-30 minutes (per clip, depending on access)
Instructions:
- Put on safety glasses and park the vehicle on a level surface with the engine off.
- Remove the damaged or old clip: use a trim removal tool or flathead screwdriver to gently pry the molding away from the body and free the old clip. Use pliers if the clip is stuck.
- Clean the mounting hole and surrounding area with a cloth and mild degreaser to remove dirt, rust, and old adhesive.
- Compare the new clip to the old one to ensure correct size and orientation. Confirm the clip engages the panel slot and the body hole.
- If installing on the molding: slide or snap the clip onto the trim piece so the clip’s retention feature faces the mounting hole.
- Align the trim/molding with the vehicle body hole and press firmly until the clip seats; you should hear or feel a click when fully engaged.
- If the clip presses directly into the body hole, position the clip and press straight in using even pressure. Use pliers to press if necessary, protecting the clip with a cloth to avoid marring.
- Inspect the installed trim for secure fit and proper alignment. Replace any additional clips as needed to restore full support.
- For best longevity, avoid high-pressure car washes for 24 hours to allow any sealants or adhesives (if used) to set.
