The Precision Rain Sensor Pad Kit RSK-1596 is a replacement pad set engineered to secure windshield-mounted rain sensors, maintain proper alignment, and restore reliable sensor operation. The kit replaces aged or damaged foam/adhesive pads that can cause sensor misalignment, excess vibration, or moisture intrusion. Made from weather-resistant foam and high-bond adhesive, the pad kit delivers long-lasting hold and consistent sensor performance. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance, the RSK-1596 helps ensure accurate automatic wiper function and reduces windshield noise from a loose sensor assembly. Verify fitment for your vehicle’s sensor housing prior to purchase.
Features:
- Universal fit for many windshield-mounted rain sensor assemblies — verify part compatibility with your vehicle before installation.
- High-density, weather-resistant foam with factory-grade adhesive for reliable long-term bonding.
- Secures sensor to windshield, reduces vibration and rattles, and helps maintain correct sensor alignment.
- Peel-and-stick pre-cut pads simplify replacement and speed up installation.
- Resistant to heat, cold, and humidity to prevent glue failure and pad degradation.
- Restores factory fit and function for automatic wiper systems during maintenance or restoration.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and disconnect the vehicle battery if required by your service manual.
- Remove the rain sensor module following vehicle-specific procedures (consult service manual).
- Carefully peel or cut away the old foam/adhesive pads from the windshield and sensor housing using a plastic scraper and razor as needed.
- Clean the windshield surface and sensor mounting area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth; allow to fully dry.
- If using an adhesive promoter, apply per product instructions and let it flash off.
- Remove the backing from the new pre-cut pads and align them to the sensor mounting footprint on the windshield or sensor housing.
- Press the pads firmly in place, applying even pressure for 30–60 seconds to ensure full adhesive contact.
- Reinstall the rain sensor module and confirm correct alignment; secure fasteners per vehicle procedures.
- Reconnect the battery if disconnected, then test the rain-sensing function and automatic wipers for proper operation.
