The Rear Liftgate Weatherstrip Seal (WBL DB5133) provides a reliable seal for rear liftgates to keep out water, dust, and road noise. Engineered as a direct replacement for worn or damaged seals, this unit mounts without a trim groove and restores proper sealing performance to the liftgate area. Constructed from resilient, weather-resistant rubber, it helps prevent corrosion, interior water intrusion, and wind noise while improving overall cabin comfort. Verify vehicle fitment before purchase to ensure compatibility with your make and model.
Features:
- Direct-replacement rear liftgate seal — verify vehicle fitment before purchase.
- Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber for long-lasting performance.
- No trim groove design fits applications requiring a smooth, flush seal.
- Prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and limits vibration.
- Easy to install with common hand tools; suitable for restoration and maintenance.
- Restores OEM sealing function to worn or cracked liftgate weatherstrips.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the liftgate and support it securely to prevent movement while working.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: pry out any retaining lip or pull the seal free from the channel. Use a trim tool to avoid damaging paint or trim.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or degreaser to remove dirt, old adhesive, and residue. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new seal by aligning it to the liftgate flange or channel starting at one end. Do not use adhesive yet if a push-fit is designed.
- If required for your application, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting surface following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Starting at the hinge side, press the new seal into place along the entire perimeter. Use a rubber roller or block to seat the seal evenly and ensure full contact.
- Trim any excess material at the end with scissors or a utility knife for a clean fit. Make sure corners and joints are sealed properly.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per product directions before closing the liftgate. Check alignment and sealing by inspecting for gaps and testing for water or wind intrusion.
