This lockstrip-style rear window weatherstrip is designed for 2-door Sport/Demon hardtops and provides a precise, durable seal where the rear glass meets the body. The lockstrip design secures the window and accepts the exterior chrome trim that inserts into the body clips, restoring original fit and finish while preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and glass vibration. Made from resilient weatherproof material, the seal offers long-term reliability and is straightforward to install for restoration and maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 2-door Sport/Demon hardtop models (rear window lockstrip type).
- Lockstrip-style weatherseal accepts exterior chrome trim that inserts into body clips.
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber compound designed to resist ozone, UV and temperature extremes.
- Seals rear window to prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise, and minimize glass vibration.
- Direct-replacement part ideal for restoration or maintenance of classic vehicles.
- Easy to trim and install — designed for a secure, factory-like fit.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any adhesive or debris from the window channel and surrounding flange.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new lockstrip in the channel to confirm correct orientation and length; mark any excess.
- If needed, trim the lockstrip to length with scissors or a utility knife, cutting slowly for a neat end.
- Apply a light, even coating of soapy water or rubber-safe lubricant to the bulb and channel to ease installation.
- Starting at one end, press the lockstrip into the channel, working along the length and ensuring the retention bead seats fully into the channel.
- Align the exterior chrome trim so it inserts correctly into the lockstrip and body clips; press the trim into place to engage clips.
- Inspect the seal along its entire length for uniform seating; gently massage any areas that are not fully seated.
- Allow any lubricant to dry, then test for leaks and wind noise by pouring water over the sealed area or by road test. Recheck and adjust as needed.
