The Precision Windshield Molding WFS D1226 R-100 is a high-quality replacement windshield trim designed to secure and seal the perimeter of the windshield while restoring a clean, factory appearance. Built from weather-resistant materials with a corrosion-resistant backing, this molding helps prevent water intrusion, reduces wind noise and vibration, and protects the windshield edge from damage. Its OEM-style profile delivers reliable fit and long-lasting performance for restoration or maintenance projects, and installation can be completed with common hand tools.
Features:
  • Designed as a direct-style replacement molding to restore factory appearance and function.
  • Constructed from weather-resistant synthetic materials with a corrosion-resistant core for lasting durability.
  • Seals and secures the windshield to reduce water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration.
  • OEM-style profile for proper alignment and improved aesthetics during restoration or replacement.
  • Easy to install with basic tools; ideal for restoration, collision repair, or routine maintenance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or panel tool
  • Flathead screwdriver (protected with tape)
  • Rubber mallet
  • Razor blade or gasket scraper
  • Cleaning solvent (isopropyl alcohol)
  • Lint-free cloths
  • Automotive-grade urethane or windshield adhesive (if required)
  • Masking tape
  • Gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with masking tape or cloth.
  2. Carefully remove the old windshield molding using a trim tool and protected flathead screwdriver to avoid scratching glass or paint.
  3. If adhesive or sealant remains, gently scrape it away with a razor blade or gasket scraper, then clean the channel and surrounding area with solvent and a lint-free cloth. Allow to dry.
  4. Test-fit the new molding along the windshield edge to confirm orientation and fit before applying any adhesive.
  5. If adhesive is specified for your application, apply a thin, even bead of automotive urethane or recommended sealant to the channel per adhesive instructions.
  6. Starting at one corner, press the new molding into the channel, working along the edge and using a rubber mallet or firm hand pressure to seat the molding evenly. Use masking tape to hold sections in place if needed.
  7. Trim or tuck any excess molding at the corners and ensure end caps or clips are properly seated.
  8. Allow adhesive (if used) to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving or exposing to moisture.
  9. Inspect the installation for uniform fit, proper seal, and secure attachment. Re-check after first drive and retighten or reseat as necessary.
