The Precision Windshield Molding WFS D1323 is a direct-fit windshield trim designed to secure and seal the windshield edge while restoring the vehicle’s exterior finish. Engineered to retain a tight weather seal, this molding protects against water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration while concealing the glass edge for a factory appearance. Constructed from durable, UV-resistant materials and designed for straightforward installation, it’s ideal for restoration and replacement projects where reliable sealing and long-term durability are required. Verify part WFS D1323 for exact vehicle compatibility prior to purchase.
Features:
- Durable, UV- and weather-resistant material for long-lasting performance.
- Forms a secure seal around the windshield to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise.
- Restores factory appearance by covering the glass edge and worn trim.
- Direct-fit design for correct alignment and consistent sealing (verify part fitment).
- Easy installation with standard trim tools — suitable for DIY or professional installation.
- Corrosion-resistant components maintain fit and function over time, minimizing maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and protect painted surfaces with masking tape or cloth where you will work.
- Carefully remove any exterior trim or retainers that overlap the windshield molding using a plastic trim tool or protected screwdrivers to avoid scratching.
- Loosen and remove the old molding: gently pry the molding away from the windshield channel, working slowly to avoid bending glass or damaging the pinch weld. Remove any clips or fasteners and set aside if reusable.
- Clean the windshield channel and pinch weld thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an adhesive remover to eliminate old adhesive, dirt, and debris. Allow the surface to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new WFS D1323 molding along the windshield edge to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess length if necessary following manufacturer recommendations.
- If required by your vehicle application, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel where the molding will seat. Use adhesive sparingly—many moldings are designed to snap in without adhesive.
- Starting at the top center of the windshield, press the new molding into the channel and work outward toward each corner. Use a rubber mallet or firm hand pressure to seat the molding evenly, ensuring clips or flanges engage the pinch weld.
- Reinstall any retainers, trim pieces, or clip hardware removed earlier. Check for uniform compression around the entire windshield and make minor adjustments as needed.
- Allow any adhesive to cure for the manufacturer-recommended time before exposing the vehicle to moisture or high-speed driving. Inspect the seal for gaps and test for wind noise/leaks after installation.
