The Precision Windshield Top Molding WFT D1324 is a direct-fit top windshield trim designed to secure the upper edge of the windshield, seal against water intrusion, and restore a factory-fresh appearance. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant materials, this molding reduces wind noise, prevents leaks, and protects the windshield edge and paint from damage. It’s intended for replacement or restoration projects—confirm OEM part number WFT D1324 or vehicle-specific fitment before ordering to ensure compatibility with your make and model.
Features:
- Designed to replace the windshield top molding (verify WFT D1324 fitment for your vehicle).
- Made from durable, weather- and UV-resistant rubber and metal-reinforced backing for long service life.
- Seals windshield upper edge to prevent water leaks and reduce wind noise.
- Restores original exterior appearance and protects paint at the windshield channel.
- Easy to install with basic trim tools; clips and/or adhesive retainers match factory attachment style.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim and paint with masking tape.
- Carefully remove the old top molding: use a trim removal tool to pry up clips or release adhesive, working left to right to avoid bending the windshield glass.
- Clean the windshield channel and surrounding area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, old adhesive, and residue. Allow to dry.
- Compare the new WFT D1324 molding to the removed piece to confirm correct length, clip locations, and orientation.
- If the vehicle uses adhesive, apply an appropriate automotive adhesive/sealant to the channel following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Position the new molding into the windshield channel, aligning any clips or locating tabs with the factory holes. Start at one end and press evenly along the length to seat the molding.
- If clips are used, press each clip into place until you hear or feel it engage. For tight fits, use a rubber mallet or block of wood to gently tap the molding into the channel—avoid striking the glass directly.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately and allow the adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations (typically 1–24 hours).
- Inspect the installation for even fitment and proper sealing. Test for leaks by gently spraying water along the seam after curing time has passed.
