Front left-hand tie rod end for 1998-1999 Dodge vehicles. This steering component connects the steering rack to the wheel assembly, translating steering input into wheel movement while maintaining alignment and handling. Designed as a direct-fit replacement, it restores steering precision, reduces play, and helps prevent premature tire wear. Built for durability and consistent performance under road conditions, it offers a reliable solution for routine maintenance, collision repair, or full suspension restoration projects.
Features:
- Fitment: 1998-1999 Dodge — front left hand (driver side) tie rod end, direct replacement for compatible models.
- Durable construction with a corrosion-resistant finish to withstand road conditions.
- Precision ball stud and socket for reduced play and consistent steering response.
- Helps restore proper wheel alignment and reduces uneven tire wear.
- Pre-greased or serviceable design (specify per SKU) for long service life and easy maintenance.
- Straightforward replacement that supports suspension rebuilds and routine steering maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen front lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod end.
- Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle and note its orientation. Mark the position or count the threads on the inner tie rod from the jam nut to preserve alignment.
- Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the knuckle.
- Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod and unthread the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod the same number of turns counted earlier, preserving toe alignment as close as possible.
- Thread the new tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the marked position, tighten the jam nut against the tie rod end, and insert into the steering knuckle.
- Torque the castle nut to manufacturer specifications and install a new cotter pin if applicable. If the part has a grease fitting, apply grease per instructions.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
- After installation, have a professional wheel alignment performed to ensure proper toe and handling.
